X100 is a camera with a non-interchangeable single fixed-focal length lens, but we did not see this as a restriction to freedom. Instead we believe that this choice has resulted in a camera that captures photos with superior image quality. The sensor with its high sensitivity performance has been customized for this special lens, ensuring effective light collection from the center to the edge areas of the sensor and expanding opportunities to take beautiful photos. This is the big advantage of the single fixed-focal lens.

One of the primary missions of processor design is finding ways to achieve faster processing speed. However, even when conducting simulations using a PC, our development team always keeps in mind that our final goal is maximizing the advantages of the processor for capturing images. For example, this includes faster AF and shrinking the interval between shots – factors that essential to preventing great moments from escaping capture. I truly hope that all will have an opportunity to experience the exhilarating instant when press the shutter of the X100 and capture the moments you want more beautifully than you imagined.
